A skin tag is a small piece of soft, hanging skin that may have a peduncle, or stalk. They can appear anywhere on the body, but especially where skin rubs against other skin or clothing.
These benign skin growths that project over the skin from a relatively small, narrow stalk. They are commonly found on the eyelids, under the breasts, on the neck or underarms. They can be irritating and frequently get inflammed due to friction with the clothing or jewellery. They may be cosmetically bothersome as well. We remove skin tags with a simple procedure under local anaesthesia.

Treatment
As skin tags are usually harmless, removal is normally for aesthetic or cosmetic reasons.
Large skin tags, especially in areas where they may rub against something, such as clothing, jewelry or skin, may be removed due to irritation.
Surgery
The following procedures may be used:
1. Cauterization: The skin tag is burned off using electrolysis
2. Ligation: The blood supply to the skin tag is interrupted
3. Excision: The tag is cut out with a scalpel under local anesthesia and dressing applied.
